What is up with little kids drinking coffee?

Every now and then I go to starbucks on my way to work. The past 2 times I have gone I saw several kids that couldn't of been older than 4th or 5th grade leaving with giant coffees in their hands. The damn starbucks cups they are carrying are bigger than their heads. I don't think I ever even tried coffee until I was in college. Is it just me or is this strange?

School is a minefield these days when you consider curriculum, teacher rape, homework requirements, afterschool activities, and social media bullying.

My kids drink coffee with me sometimes. Granted its not any Starbucks 10$ a cup coffee.
My youngest son always tells me he wants his coffee like he wants his women " hot and black " always a proud dad moment when my 5 yr old tells me that.

Probably on their way to Catholic school and they need to stay alert.

It's no worse than the mid 2000s when kids that age were drinking Rockstars and Monsters like their lives depended on it.

Hot chocolate or maybe 80/20 milk to coffee. It's all about the hip Starbucks cup to young kids.

I thought so too until I realized a cup of coffee probably has less sugar and caffeine than your average soft drink. Now if they start smoking cigarettes with their java, then maybe we have a problem.

Starbucks is a status symbol for kids

Coffee has no sugar and caffeine isn't bad for you (and can be argued that it's good).

Apparently they have drinks with little to no actual coffee in them. I learned this from my teenage niece who said she loves Starbucks but hates coffee.

I didn’t start drinking coffee til I was 18. I thought that was old. No?
