Shattered heel and tibia that broke slowly when I fell doing something unsafe on a 4' step ladder. Leg/ankle got caught in between the two metal legs, like a vise, and when I came down my body weight provided the leverage, two metal legs the fulcrum and my bone and heel suffered the end result. Was not a clean break and had to wait in the emergency room at the hospital while the doctor attended to patients involved in a life threatening crash. Besides the initial shock of lifting your leg and seeing your foot spin the other way, the pain slowly set in after the adrenaline wore off and by the time I was in a room a couple hours later, it was excruciating. I don't remember this part, but my wife had to get the attending nurse to get the doctor to order some pain medicine. She said I was in and out, just moaning.

Had my wisdom teeth removed in college. A small piece of tooth accidently remained after the surgery on side. The gum then healed around that piece of tooth, exposing a small piece. Didn't know it was there until the pain started. When I went back to the oral surgeon, he removed the piece of tooth out with forceps without deadening the area or anything. Horrific.

Drunk driver ran into my drunk going 85mph. Broke my left femur, right tibia and fibia, and my pelvis was split in half. I was concise while they were cutting me out of my truck and concise the whole helicopter ride to the hospital before they could put me under for surgery

I have atrial fibrillation. I take blood thinners to keep the blood from pooling and clotting in the chambers of my heart which would result in clots being sent into the bloodstream. When I was 19 and in college, I thought I was invincible and I stopped taking the blood thinners. One night I was taking a shower and started having this incredible pain in my left knee. Within 5 minutes the pain had extended down my leg into my toes and everything below the knee was the worst version of “pins and needles” you can imagine. And it kept getting worse. Luckily I had a roommate and he drove me to the hospital with me laying flat in the back seat and screaming from the pain. We got there and they immediately started blood thinners. They put me into twilight to help the pain. I found out after they were prepping the OR to amputate my leg below the knee when the IV blood thinners worked and the clot released. My cardiologist read me the riot act that night and made me ever so thankful the clot went south instead of to my brain. I would have been dead in minutes if that had happened. I haven’t missed a single dose in 24 years since then.

Sounds like it shouldn't be but partially severing the tip of my pinky finger in a door jamb was the most incredible pain I've ever felt. Lots of nerves in the finger apparently.

Viral meningitis headache was no picnic either.

Corneal abrasion. Wore my old hard lens too long and woke up in the night in pain. Husband turned on the light which made me scream and collapse in paid.

This was much much worse than childbirth, which just wasn't that horrific.

Torn meniscus, mainly attempting to rehab it by having a 250-300lb therapist put all his weight onto it to get the leg straight.

Turned out later not to be possible because it was a “bucket handle tear” obstructing the joint.

This type of shite is nightmare fuel if you've ever had tooth nerve pain before. that shite will make your arm hair turn into a deadly projectile it stands up so fast. it is supernatural how instant and extreme the pain is. your brain starts processing in plaid.

Having fluid (actually old blood) drained from my chest cavity via a needle inserted into my back connected to a pump. This was just a couple of weeks after having two open heart surgeries in a 7 day period. All my ribs were broken and my breastbone was wired together. What made it so painful is as they drained the fluid this allowed my lungs to expand (which did make breathing easier) but caused uncontrollable violent coughing. The pain this sent through my chest is indescribable.

I had to have this done twice.

Internal bleeding caused by a severed small intestine and multiple tears to the mesentery.

Injuries were sustained in a 45 mph head on car crash. Injuries were actually caused by my seatbelt.

Felt as if my insides were on fire and melting.

Required emergency surgery. Doctor said they extracted 4 pints of blood from my internal cavity before the bleeding subsided. Nearly died.
