Pubic relations instead of public relations was put on a resume. Person was well connected and still got the job. Yikes
...This was for a PR job at an sec school.

We do the pre-interview skills and knowledge test for my company. We had a guy put in an application for a machinist job. We have a machinist and mechanic skills test with most of the same questions but the machinist test has more questions dealing with precision measurements. I set all the calipers and micrometers in front of him and explained the test. Dude had no idea what they were used for said all he need was a tape measure. We ended the skills test there.
Had another guy apply for our field mechanic position. I am looking over the application and explaining the job functions. I get to a part where he did fab work at a prison asked him about that he had a pretty good amount of time worked there. He wasn't employed there but incarcerated there, the guy did well on the test, but couldn't pass the background.

I asked a young lady at Sears about the capacity of a washing machine. She whipped out a metal tape measure and went to work. We never did get a final answer, but she made a good show of it.
I knew then that Sears was dead.

I was managing a restaurant 25 years ago. One girl not only listed the reason for leaving her last job as being fired, but she misspelled it and wrote “fried”.
Man there were a bunch of great ones but that’s the only damn one I can remember at this time.

Knew a fella while in college put in application at academy. Under hobby’s he listed “I like to fool with guns.”??

Most unfortunate misspelling was someone who wrote their position at Taco Bell was "shite manager".
Biggest personality giveaway was someone who wrote they had left 2 separate jobs because of "too much drama".
Best email was something like justinslilbaby69@yahoo for some chick.

I recall in 2002 or so a guy walked into a BRLA restaurant and asked for a job app. He filled it out and walked into the back. He found the book keepers office. He then went in and robbed her at gunpoint.
He left the store, but his job app was still on the desk with all his current info including living address. Was arrested a few hours later.
Good rouse to get in the door before the restaurant was open. Horrible idea to put accurate personal info on the app, and then leave it behind.

Another one couldn't correctly spell his own college major. He made the same mistake in three places. How in hell do you get a degree in a subject without knowing how to spell it?
Let me guess he said "Mass Communications"

I don't think I've filled out an actual application in the last several jobs I've had. Just sent in my resume, and had an interview.
Though my last interview was on the phone was basically, "how much do you want, and when can you start."
