Yeah, it's hard to comprehend. The one that baffles me the most...The Milky Way and Andromeda Galaxies will collide in about 4 billion years, but there is zero chance that any stars or planets will collide with each other due to the vastness of space.

Wasn’t the Big Bang a huge explosion pushing matter far into the universe? Maybe such big pieces with some having their own gravitational pull causing separation?

Before the Bog Bang there was nothing. Then God said let there be light and so it was. And now we have gravity and animals.
