What is the purpose of this?

Why do people lock their car 6 or 7 times straight?? If you click the lock button twice...it will lock. But somehow people will keep clicking it. What is the purpose of doing this?

2 - probably unlocked
3 - could be locked
4 - could be unlocked though
5 - good chance its locked
6 - locked
7 - super locked

On my vehicle, Click 1 locks the door. Two more and it arms the security system.
Also, folks clicking multiple times could be looking for their vehicle...

My key fob sucks and I'll click it a few times to make sure it actually received the signal and locked.
The real question is why does this bother you at all? Seems like a trivial matter to give a shite about in the grand scheme of things.
