I spent about 8 hours in the drunk tank one night. That was plenty enough for me. I don’t plan on going back.

Fleeing the country is harder than people think unless you have everything in place prior to the arrest and have people who won't screw you over. Most of the time people with a plan in place are "professional" criminals. Most people and most criminal attorneys don't know a real-life Ed Galbraith.

I've gotten held in a police substation two or three times when I was a minor. That's been pretty much it for me.
