Adult humans can fight off cougars (mountain lions). Hell, I read about a lady who did so recently somewhere out west, when one attacked her kid. I don't know about killing one barehanded, though.

Does the animal ever get the memo in this hypothetical? If they aren't going to fight back then the list is endless. If a mountain lion in an understood fight to the death with a human, the human is fricked.
