aftermarket wheels, polished and bent axles, weight up to the limit

2 words. Rail Rider.
ETA - order a tungsten disc off of amazon and also some tungsten putty for targeting your additional weight to get you up to 5oz. If you don't have a digital kitchen scale that measures hundredths of an ounce go get one.

Sand your axles(finish nails), graphite the crap out of them, sand your wheels, insert weights on the inside of chassis as far back as possible.
Get them wheels to spin with zero wobbling. Hope for a fast lane. Aerodynamics have nothing to do with it.
Get it baw!

Lengthen wheelbase as far a possible
Ride 3 wheels and ride the center rail(rail rider)

A dremel and a YouTube video. We won ours and I have no clue when it comes to carpentry. However, I can follow directions extremely well.

friction less wheel to nail connection. being just under the max allowable weight
Posted on 1/8/19 at 4:39 pm to Tiger Ryno
Google it. It's weight distribution (low and right in front of the rear wheels), reduced drag and reducing friction on the wheels and axles. All legal.

The most important thing is that your car is faster than the other cars.

I like it.
Teach them young how to work a triple beam.

there are videos on youtube for this.
The main deal was putting the lead weight as far back in the car as possible.

I'd just put a tiny little motor in it. Or sabotage the other cars.
Like my daddy always said, the key to not cheating is to not get caught cheating.

Won second and third place back in the day. Dad built a track in our garage. Keys I remember are cutting a square in the bottom, place a piece of metal to give downward weight and momentum. Patch around it with plastic wood and then pain. Angle the nail axles upward and polish them on a lathe. Sprinkle graphite on the axles for better spin. Slope the front nose of the wood block to make it more aerodynamic. We really got into it. I think my Dad enjoyed it more than I did.

Put the axles in a dremel moto tool. Polish with 600 grit wet/dry sandpaper.
Put the max amount of lead 50/50 in two holes dead center over each axle.
Lubricate with silicone.
