50 miles on a mountain bike was a bit rough.

Climbed the peak of Mt Blanca (14,344 ft).

I was there watching

*emphasis on watching

My buddy qualified so we all flew up to watch and support him. Also to drink in Boston for a few days and catch a Red Sox game. Marathon Mondays are wild up there. I love that place.

Not a time to brag about, but respectable for my first marathon.

How did you get to run Boston as your first marathon? I thought you had to submit a qualifying time. Or do they accept half marathon times or something (I know one of the races here in Houston does that)?

Flipped a 750lb hot tub that was on its side up 4 steps of stairs onto a deck by myself because I got mad at it. As well as my coworker who was only pretending to help lift. Its either that or carrying a 300lb above ground pool wall on my shoulder.

My body has never felt so weird as after the hot tub though. Pretty sure I came very close to getting a hernia. I was nauseas, my balls and lower stomach had a dull ache, and my whole body felt half dead.

2/10 would not advise, the potential harm and pain are not worth the exlihiration of such an achievement.

shite like that is also why my body is currently trying to fall apart even though I'm only 30.

Survived 4 South Louisiana August high school football camps back when they allowed two a days, but no water breaks, the theory being that fighting through the thirst would make us tougher.

I got so dehydrated one summer during two a days that I got the worst nosebleed of my life (not sure if those two are related ) but of course I had to keep running and couldn't quit. I can still hear my coach yelling at me to keep running with blood pouring out of my nose

Ive done several solo 100 milers in 5 hours, it's tough with no one pulling.

I've finished a couple full IronMan races.

But the goddamn Rouge Roubaix 104ish mile bike race in the hills around St. Francisville is both mentally and physically brutal, the hardest thing I've done and finished. I don't recommend it to anyone unless you're riding with a 10+ person team.

Ironman Hawaii. I've done a bunch of others and there's just nothing that compares to the heat and the wind

Probably sumitting Mt. Rainier. Climbing flights of stairs in a Chicago office building was not exactly proper training.

Two years ago I rafted about 20 miles down the Missouri River out of Cascade, Montana with some friends and a guide. We all got out at various points on the river (except for the guide) and did a land navigation course that took about 72-96 hours through the mountains to the top of Boulder Mountain. I wound up getting off the raft near the point where the river meets Holter Lake.

As an added little catch we limited each other's gear was to a total weight of 15 lbs not including water, and specified that you couldn't be within 50 yards either side of a road for any more than 30 minutes at a time (hiking trails not included if you found one). My pack consisted of ?550 cord, a tarp, a compass, some first aid supplies, protein bars, a knife, change of clothes (skivvy roll), map, phone for emergencies, flint striker with Vaseline covered cotton balls (wrapped in foil), fireproof matches, headlight, pencil and pad, thermal blanket, and a water purification system (LifeStraw).

It was an absolute blast, but the up and down over the mountains and hills made for an exhausting experience. Needless to say, when we finally all got to the top of Boulder Mountain it was a surreal experience. I think we are planning another trip for next summer in the Blue Ridge Mountains, may bring some body wash this time... the smell was ripe at the end.

I didn't run as a qualified runner (if you can't tell by my time )

You can run with a charity if you're accepted, and you don't need a qualifying time to enter.

I don't understand the confusion, unless it's about it being my first marathon. Which I just explained in the above post.
