Mind your sass mouth.

Krispy kreme is like eating a warm, buttery, velvety sugar cloud.

McKenzies buttermilk drops

You can get buttermilk drops at "The Buttermilk Drop" on N. Dorgenois in Tremé. Tastes just like McKenzie's.

These frozen puppies. Eat them before school, they were glorious to me.

I kinda feel for the people in this thread that have never had a real donut and are saying Krispy Kreme. At least no one is saying Dunkin.

How pathetic is your life when Krispy Kreme is the best donut you have eaten? That’s like saying krystal burger is the best burger you have ever eaten.

If a basic (non-cake) glazed donut is someone’s favorite kind of donut, than a fresh Krispy Kreme is up there with the best of them.

Not everyone likes a heavy buttermilk cake donut.

7 pages and only response for Mr. Ronnie's in Houma!

These can not be beat. Tried Mary Lee's in Baton Rouge when I was in college and it was no comparison.

Chocolate glazed donuts from Cal’s bakery in Gonzales. Sadly, it’s not there anymore.

Can't believe it took until page 5 to pop up, but I'll go with Jays. I remember many a Sunday morning leaving SJV and picking up a dozen or two..

Anybody else remember a house on Verbenia St. in New Orleans that sold doughnuts out of the basement? We used to go there in the 60’s.
Yes I do! Went there every chance. Heard rumors they supplied a local bakery or two as well as selling to walk ups like me and my friends. Their glazed were perfection when hot.

Best fave was jelly donuts from Lawrence’s Bakery on Elysian Fields and Fillmore. Then glazed rings and twists. Third was cream filled. His light flashed when donuts were hot.

From my childhood had to either be the Tuscaloosa Krispy Kreme after Wednesday night basketball games, or a local place in Dothan. Lived in Meridian before Dothan and we had season tickets to UA basketball. Parents would load us up in the minivan and take us to the weeknight games. Then hit up KK on the way out of town and we’d all sleep the whole way home. No car seats or seat belts. Just sleeping bags and on the floor.

The local bakery in Dothan was more of a cake place but they did fresh donuts every morning. They had some buttermilk cruller that was awesome.

Th Donut Factory in Houma had a better tasting dough than Mr. Ronnie's. Alas, they are no more.

Jay's Donuts (RIP)

I went to school down the street, and seniors were allowed to leave during study hall as long as we stayed above a certain GPA. At least twice a week I would run down to Jay's and grab a dozen donut holes.

That place was the best.
