There’s an old confederate ex-pat community in Brazil where they still have flags flying everywhere.

I was coming into say that. We drove from Sao Paulo to Rio Claro and drove through Americana. It was a really bizarre sight. Apparently they have a big festival commemorating the US Civil war each year.

I've seen a flag a couple of times in some small towns outside of Pittsburgh Pa.

This is no BS but In Northeast PA I saw a black dude driving an old pickup with huge confederate flags waving in the back... That’s something you won’t see everyday

It's pretty popular in Northern Italy for some reason.

Sorry but it’s true. I’ve got black customers of mine I’ve become good friends with and some black friends from up north. Chicago, Pittsburgh, and a few from towns I’ve never heard of. I’ve heard the most segregated areas in the country are up north. According to a few of them they couldn’t pay a white person to come to their house or let them come to the others house. They come to the south and barbecuing and watching football inside each other’s homes in a week. I’ve even seen a black poster on here post about it, heard it many times throughout my life and have heard from no telling how many white people from up north how truly racist it is up there.

South Dakota and Iowa absolutely have no Black people... none...

The most racist place I’ve ever been in my life is probably Watertown, NY... town right outside Ft. Drum

The flag itself doesn't bother me.

Whether or not you like it, the flag has been co-opted by extremist white supremacist groups. Obviously if I'm not in the south, I'm going to be more suspicious of people who fly it. Also, I've only ever seen a "white power" tattoo once in my life, and it was in that same part of the country.

It's no different than being suspicious of a group of young black men who are all wearing red bandannas. You would probably exercise caution. That's all I'm talking about when I say "high alert".

Me too! I bet it may have been the same dude. We were up for the Syracuse game, and decided to spend a day in the country driving around. I want to say possibly Auburn? I couldn't believe what I was seeing, had to pull over and make sure, lol.
