Driven.. That would be somewhere just west of Houston.. About a 6 hr drive.. Been on, that would be from Baton Rouge to Casper, Wyoming.

Went on a family camping trip when I was a teenager (it was my mom, three of her sisters, one of the three sister's husband and 8 or 9 cousins). It took us about 5.5 days. I would never ever recommend taking a family trip in which, for 5 days, all you do is ride, stop a few times during the day, then about 2 hrs before dusk, start looking for a campground, so that we could set up camp, go to sleep then wake up early to pack up and get back on the road again.

In November Mrs. Init and I drove a Ram 2500 crew cab pulling a 7x12 bike hauler from Baton Rouge to San Diego in 30 hours stopping only for food, bathroom and fuel. A week later we made it back in 29 hours. The extra hour going was a stop at a Walmart in Arizona to buy a gift and then at the first In & Out we saw in California.
We team drove sleeping in the back seat when not driving. I had made a comfy bed situation for us as the vehicle was quite roomy.
It was an epic journey in that we didn't kill one another spending that much time in such close quarters and tolerating each others driving.
Including mileage while there we put almost 3800 miles on that rig. It was around 1750 miles one way.

Walked 2178 miles hiking the Appalachian Trail in 2009. Just think about that on your trip and driving won't seem so bad.

Miami Florida to anchorage, Alaska. 4,961 miles, 81 hours total in the car. Took us 10 days to get there stopped and did some sight seeing stuff. Stopped over halfway to do some sight seeing and had to get an oil change That’s when you know you’re driving a lot

Round trip from Louisiana to California. Cousins located from Santa Monica to north of L.A., then to Redwood Forest, Las Vegas, and a few stops in TX. Logged 5600 miles in our daughter's prius averaging 52 MPG! Still one of the best road trips I have ever been on. We did this over two weeks so not to bad.

Drove to L.A. from N.O., in August in an old BMW with no AC. We drove to Aspen first stayed there for a couple of days. Then drove to Vegas in one day. Being from Louisiana I didn't know what the salt rings on my shirt were followed by not feeling well. I was dehydrated and didn't know it.

Did a Civil War Battle field trip..made it to Gettysburg.
