A morning was never complete without this assortment of items at me and my brothers disposal.
1. Count Chocula
This should be the late 80's box or close to it. We ate this shite for years into high school. A staple in the pantry.
#2. Carnation Instant Breakfast
This is that old school shite here son. This shite was and always will be the nuke bomb of breakfast past times. If you have had it then you know the deal. You ate two every morning with your Count Chocula. Was the best and most delicious breakfast bar to everh grace a table at 6 am in the 80's and 90's.
I do not believe they make these anymore. A God Damn national tragedy worse than anything in my lifetime. frick this world.
#3. Carnation Instant Breakfast mix
The mixed assortment was the best. Me and my brothers fought for the chocolate often. First up got first dibs at that old house. Was moms way of creating a good reason to get out of bed sooner.
Here is an old advertising video of both Cout Chcocula and Carnation Instant Breakfast.

Best always seemed to be when we went camping. Didn't matter what it was, but it just always seemed to taste better.

My mom was an elementary teacher and I used to ride with her every day to and from school.
Every school morning, and I mean every, she would stop off at my grandmother’s house for coffee before she had to be at work (and before I had to be at school). My grandmother would cook scrambled eggs, grits, sausage or bacon and homemade from scratch biscuits.
I thoroughly miss that. And while I can’t do that everyday for my girls, I do on weekends make a great breakfast for them —- and like to think that my grandmother is one of the reasons why I enjoy cooking as much as I do.
