Thanks for the reply. I had no idea it was so similar to the US system after assuming the government had some or more control. Perhaps it was like that pre-collapse?
My follow up question is what percentage of high school grads go to college? And for the ones who don't, do they go to trade schools, other careers, military, etc.

Putin’s Russia has the highest number of heroin users per capita of anywhere in the world.
Alcoholism is rampant. A study found in The Lancet says 25% of Russian men die before they are age 55, and most of the deaths are due to alcohol. The comparable UK figure is 7%.
Causes of death include liver disease and alcohol poisoning. Many also die in accidents or after getting into fights.
The study tracked the drinking patterns of 151,000 adults in three Russian cities over 10 years.
Russian hospitals commonly lack: hot water, in many cases any water, sewers, wheelchair access, central heating, and food for patients. The equipment is often obsolete or non-functioning.
Russian medical doctors are paid $1.25 to $2 an hour if they work overtime: some Russian medical doctors make only $12 for a 10 hour shift.
Putin created this horror by stealing the money from the national budget for himself.

Nvm seems you answered a bit earlier. I guess there is some pride in Moscow but homosexuality isn’t criminal anymore and that it’s been declassified as a mental illness.

One of the things I really liked about Russia, was that the men were actually men, and the women were still ladies.
People are people, but there was still a strong social pressure for women to dress up, and behave properly. They were also incredibly feminine, and they took pride in being feminine.
