So you recognize the value of ports but couldn't just maybe guess one of Portland's major industries?

Why is Portland grouped with Vancouver? They’re an entire state apart.

ETA: didn’t realize there was a Vancouver Oregon. I’m dumb.

I’ve never been to Portland and really don’t know anything about. Not my fault you’re a total arse in response. I was legitimately interested in learning about them as a city but as per usual people try to infer meaning through text.

I had no idea until this thread that Beaverton Oregon was a suburb of Portland.

Vancouver is across the Columbia River from Portland. It is the 4th largest city in the state of Washington.

Lulz. It is Vancouver, WA, which is directly across the Columbia River. No different than any other MSA that exists on a state border.

I visited as a tourist 2 years ago. Very pretty but the amount of homelessness and open drug use downtown was insane Outside of downtown, the coast, gorge area etc..it was awesome.

As always, I check on housing cost why on vacation and it is very expensive.

Vancouver, WA is great place to live if you hate taxes. No income tax in Washington, no sales tax in Oregon. Live, work, and grocery shop in Vancouver (no sales tax on unprepared food), and then do the rest of the shopping in Portland across the river.

That blows my mind that either of those states don’t tax two things that are so regularly taxed elsewhere.

There are thousands of good people in Portland. They raise their families, they pay their taxes, and work hard. It is unfortunate they can't travel to certain parts of their city because Antifa / BLM terrorist have turned those areas into war zones.

I would imagine many Portland residents are frightened and terrified by the lawlessness. After all that's what terrorist do........terrorize.

Pray for Portland......Pray for America
