Do they have insurance for lost revenues?

They can claim the relocation costs and get reimbursement up to a certain approved amount per day. In other words, if they relocated to the Ritz Carlton, they won't get it all back. For the flood last year in LA, it was about $85/day.

For the lost business issues, they will probably have to deal with SBA.

I'm pretty sure FEMA doesn't cover lost wages.

Do some research on FEMA camps before you get involved with this organization.

Perhaps your parents should have purchased business interruption insurance.

If it's anything like Katrina they won't get much and they won't get it soon

still would need a covered peril to have transpired for their to be coverage. It ain't just a "we had to leave town, rent a hotel, and shut down for a week" type coverage.

But an insurance policy that has business interruption coverage still has to have the lost business due to a covered loss, which flood is not on an insurance policy typically. Flood insurance is a separate policy

A neighbor in my old (early 2000s) hood had no flood insurance, and his insurer had sneakily removed his storm damage coverage from his homeowners policy when he re-upped, so he had no coverage when Katrina hit.
I had full storm coverage and a flood policy.
He had his primary vehicle replaced and his house restored by taxpayer money, and it was completed a few months before mine.
If I were just a little less ethical I'd never purchase any storm or flood coverage again, because our system encourages that.

Edit: He also got a FEMA trailer installed in his driveway. I wasn't eligible.
