FEMA learned a lot of lessons due to the Katrina shenanigans. They won't replace a whole house at all now. The MAX you're going to get is about $30K and you are lucky if you get that. I believe I heard estimates for the Aug '16 flood that the average FEMA payout was about $10K.

Was curious so looked into this. My dad's policy is pretty good, he was sick a few years ago (appendicitis) and ended up taking 3 months off work due to complications from the surgery, his insurance paid his paycheck each week during that time
