When I was having hip issues, I went to Peak Physical Therapy on Perkins and liked it.

Find one that is convenient to get, has an actual weights (think squat rack, bumper plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, etc.)

I personally recommend Moreau on Sherwood Forest or Delta PT

It’s a hip replacement. Way different. He wants her in an in patient setting.

OP, Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital in United Plaza is what you are looking for.

BR Rehab hospital. Everyone else is recommending outpatient therapy places but they won’t do that until after rehab if that’s what the Dr wants.

I had both knees replaced June 2022. Went to Peak Performance off Jefferson. Was great to work with.

What did the IDT and or physician recommend? If they don’t think your loved one can tolerate up to 3 hours of rehab in an inpatient rehab facility for 2-3 weeks then typically they get referred to a nursing home for rehab

I had a total hip replacement just over two years ago. My orthopedic doctor asked if I wanted to go to physical therapy and I told him no. I did all of my rehab at home doing various exercises plus getting out and walking beginning the day after surgery. I had to use a walker then a cane but I did all mine at home.

Not necessarily

It depends on the individuals prior level of function along with how well the patient performed therapy in acute care setting, insurance, etc

Btw, never get a managed Medicare program because their therapy coverage is crap

With the improvements in orthopedic surgery, there will be less need for direct rehab at an in patient or even an outpatient unit as long as that individual is healthy enough
