Maybe not the whole continent but if somehow all of subsaharan Africa joined together to become an entity like the USA. Someone would need to come in and completely take over, but if they could unify the countries I think that would be interesting.

Please do tell what I’m the actual frick makes you think this? All it would do is take a bunch of small third-World shitholes and combine them into one huge third-world shithole.

Given the size of their landmass and mineral wealth, a united subsaharan country would be a super power within 50 years of its founding.

The issue is tribalism. In America, everyone moved away from their regional traditions for a chance at a fresh start in a truly FREE political environment.

It would take a Napoleanesque dictator to unite Africa much in the same way France united the hundreds of fiefdoms in Germany

This is silly. Africa is 14 times larger in landmass than the US. It's nearly two times as large as Russia, with no unifying structure, language, culture, religion, to unify the states. The notion of a Pan-African union has been touted before, and it was just as silly then as it is now. It would be a nightmare for any centralization efforts, which are the hallmarks of large, powerful states.

Subsaharan Africa has everything they need to become a united superpower except for actual cultural unity

large population
vast natural resources
multiple ports for export
natural boundaries that impede invasion

You're talking about a place where, as recently as 2016, a college student said they should do away with science and promote African witchcraft. And this was in Cape Town, South Africa...one of the better off countries.

Disregarding all science is no way to get to be a world power.

And that is not what got him killed. You see the powers that be could care less and 270 people getting blown out the sky but try to have your own currency backed with your own resources and the wrath on the world comes down on you. Ask Lincoln and Kenndy.

Besides being fly AF, overall, their Congressional chaplains would be some of the most awesome folks to behold, their anthem would be jammin' like a motherfricker and the President would have a decent chance of being an actual cannibal.

Next question...

Reagan rightfully ordered a series of airstrikes that essentially crippled Gaddafi and shut his arse up for thirty years

Speaking of chinese. My uber drive in Denver (who was from madagascar) went on a 15 minute tangent about how the chinese are coming in and taking all their crabs! It was infuriating to listen to. So pissed.

Pan-Africanism is a lie. They are tribal to the core. There’s a reason that 90% of subsaharan Africa is run by warlords and dictators. Why those places taken over by them slip into degradation and destruction.

I put the caveat of "all" in there because I knew my comment could go this way.

Both sides of the aisle want to disregard various areas of science when it benefits their agendas.

I'm trying to figure out how that bong works.
It looks like a little bong on a big bong, then he pulls the carb on the little bong yet smokes the big bong.

I laugh at people who blow that money on those bongs. No bong in the world hits more than a gravity bong.

Well yes, that’s the Chinese plan

This.

The US went into countries in Africa, that is rich in oil and said "we will come here and drill oil, which will create a lot of jobs, which will eventually make these countries richer, however; yall have to change this and fix that before we come in" and these countries saw it as the US trying to dictate to them how they should live, etc..

China said "Look, we will come in and unlike the US, we don't give a frick what yall do. We will just come in, most of the workers will come from China.. And yall can continue to live in poverty and do whatever makes yall feel good. We just want the high quality oil without interrupting anything".
