I'm calm as can be, baw. You're the one choosing to view pretty much everything through your little political lense. That shite is annoying.

You do realizes this is dangerous because of those drivers actions, right?

Just really poking at you, not serious. I'm in a salty mood this afternoon.

For what it's worth, I also hate the continued politicization of most conversations, so I guess I shouldn't really do that even in jest. My apologies.

Passers don’t use the left lane correctly, so regular drivers shouldn’t have to either.

Enforce both or none at all.

I just wish people would use the 3 fricking lanes that they built for us from Highland to Prairieville. When you get to Highland headed towards AP, you won’t find a soul in the right lane.

Idc if there are people trying to get on the interstate in the right lane. You chose to drive slow, you pay the consequences.

Hell once you get past Highland there is no merging traffic until you hit 73 anyway. The only thing I can think of is that people are afraid they’re going to get stuck in the right lane (e.g. not able to get back over before the LA-73 exit). I will say the distance from Highland to LA-73 is a bit deceptive, it’s a lot farther than it seems. So maybe that plays into it.

That stretch also seems to be one of the worst for extremely slow-moving vehicles, for some reason. People towing junkers, people with mattresses in the back of their truck, etc… it’s like people don’t know you can get to AP on surface streets or something, so they get on the interstate at Highland.

If only your reckless driving only put your dumbass at risk then it would be fine. But it puts mine and everyone else at risk too. So if I can block you from doing 90-100 for short period of time I’ll do it.

I hardly drive slow. I have many speeding tickets to prove it. But some of all drive like it’s Daytona Speedway out there and it’s ridiculous.

The guy that can't comprehend that brake checking people is far more dangerous for everyone else on the road than your wee wee being insulted by a tailgater is talking about life and luck. You're a bastion of luck, let me touch you

They'd be pulling over a frick ton of 18 wheelers going 71mph trying to pass the other 18 wheeler in the right lane going 70mph and taking ten miles to do it.

Something as little as the depth of tire tread can cause slight inaccuracy in the speedometer. Two trucks both set their cruise control to 70 mph but one has older tires and therefore the circumference is smaller so their actual speed ends up being 69.5 mph. Then every truck with new tires has to pass them only going .5 mph faster because they'll get in trouble if they speed even by 1 mph.

So we all have to suffer because truck drivers have their speeds micromanaged.

I can see from replies we have some bad drivers on this board. You are much more danger in your Altima doing 110 mph with smoke coming off wheels and weaving frantically to take next exit 1 miles away than someone doing 75 in left lane.

Or what if they pulled everyone over for going 20 over the speed limit in the left too?

So they would pull over a vehicle and ticket them when not breaking the law???

Left lane is for passing, there is no time limit on how long that maneuver should take. As long as they are actively passing then they are withing their rights.

It's annoying as hell, and honestly the truck in the right could be courteous and slow up a bit and let the guy get around.

Then again if the govt wouldn't enact such bullshite regulations in truckers we wouldn't ha e this issue either.

Get ready though, we are close to having mandatory speed limiters on all commercial trucks soon, it gonna be even worse.

I got 7-8 over the speed limit and rarely leave the left lane. I’m just trying to protect people from getting tickets. If you pass me you’re liable to get one

some states do

It’s already against the law to ride in the left lane unless you are passing someone. Laws don’t matter if you don’t enforce it. But then again we are talking about Louisiana

There are huge misconceptions and also people not giving a frick/ in their own world. I can’t tell you how many people I talk to about this think the left lane is the fast lane. And you see it all the time when the roads aren’t really busy. People just cursing on the left lane going 75 for miles when there are 3 open lanes to their right. Blows my mind

I think every state has a law on the books but on one actually enforces it. I would make this a point of emphasis and be rolling in ticket money.

Georgia has such a law and I have seen it enforced, but mostly it has little effect. There is an effort being made to strengthen it, to make it an offense to stay in the left lane unless you are actively passing someone.
That's how it is in Denmark and Germany and probably other European countries. If you pass someone, you had better get your butt over as soon as you pass them. Makes traffic move better.
