I went to a funeral of an old guitar player this past Summer. He was 68 when he passed.

At the visitation after the service they were playing video of him jamming on a projection T.V..

They hooked a Laptop up to it,so it was recent stuff.

He was good.

He had a Marshall Amp with the Tubes.

Talked about this with my wife recently. I plan on donating my body to science and having my surviving family hold a memorial celebration at the venue of their choice. My son and I share the same taste in music, so he will be in charge of the playlist. List will include lots of Rush, Zep, Zebra RHCP, and other bands we both enjoy. He’s also an aspiring musician, so hopefully he has a band by then and can also jam some live music. I know it’s unconventional, but I detest the visitation part of funerals and I don’t want people to have to endure that misery.

If you aren't singing "Victory in Jesus" you are headed for the wrong place - and it's hot there.

We had a family member pass away last year and they had something similar. They had him cremated, but he didn't want a traditional visitation/funeral. He loved the lake, so they rented a big place on the lake and invited all his family and friends. It was good food, stories, and laughing. And it was a hell of a view, too.

A Widow's Toast by Neko Case

LSU Four Notes

And I want this quote somewhere

“PIPPIN: I didn't think it would end this way.

GANDALF: End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.

PIPPIN: What? Gandalf? See what?

GANDALF: White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.

PIPPIN: Well, that isn't so bad.

GANDALF: No. No, it isn't.”

"The Church's One Foundation" - last verse with emphasis! Lyrics confirm the Bible's message to the world that "it is finished"! All hard work is done - praise for Jesus Christ's sacrifice and his message of love and hope for the world!

On a more secular, but still spiritual note, I would like to have the following played:

1) Light up the World, Shine on Me, Love is the Answer - England Dan & John Ford Coley
2) One - U2
3) Have I Told You Lately - Rod Stewart
4 The Day We Meet Again - Moody Blues
