For my pops we played: "Precious Lord, Take my Hand", "In the Sweet By and By (Johnny Cash version), and "Uncloudy Day" (Willie Nelson version). He wanted "Uncloudy Day" because it is happy "and not some of the make em all cry crap". I think "Precious Lord" was the Avett Brothers version. It was the perfect song for a strong man who died of ALS and all the terribleness that comes with it.

Inna Gadda Da Vida (long version) played by bagpipers in kilts, preferably Old Campbell tartan.

That will be followed up by When The Music’s Over by The Doors.

I expect my people to drag out Lee Greenwood from wherever he's kept between national crises.

I have always thought about "Will you Miss me When I'm Gone?" by the Stanley Brothers. I'm betting I won't get it played, though.

"Glory Glory" sung in the style of the North Mississippi Allstars.

Followed by "Mary Don't You Weep" in the style of Aretha.

And assuming I'm fairly old when I die, ending with, "Where Rainbows Never Die" by the Steeldrivers.

I contemplate my death quite often (daily), so I've already picked out my stuff.

Hallelujah! Bigbee has left this chithole behind!

Well post your guess. I find Charley Pride songs all the time I've never heard and there are probably a ton more.

I assume most of these responses are lighthearted jokes. Similar to a last meal thread you answer with “a five day old mold encrusted McDonalds burger.”

I clicked. I listened to the first two lines. Had to stop. I have a friend who listened to that far too often when his wife passed.
It gets me every time.
