Started woodworking. Became just another thing to do. Had to move on. Now I take college classes as a hobby. How boring is that

I was into coin collecting for a couple of years when I was about 12yo. Mostly small stuff, pennies & nickels that you can fill a Whitman's folder.

I got back into it in my late 50s. Higher end coins this time; mint state & proof $20 gold and Morgan dollars.

I taught myself to play the harp and the organ. I am getting ready to start on the violin.

More specific? Old watches? Really expensive watches?

I played starting at age 5. After a little less than a decade, and playing well enough for piano duet accompaniments at performances, I reluctantly quit.

Long story short, it’s not like riding a bike.

Amazed DG keeps coming up. For those who picked it up after 30 did it happen pre-COVID, during the COVID boom, or after the media attention garnered by James Corad's "Holy Shot" at the 2021 Worlds?

Simon Lizotte. Somehow I came across a video of his on youtube, and I became a fan pretty quick. Dude is fun to watch and he cracks me up. Didn't take long for me to start wanting to play to try it out. That was a couple of years ago, so yeah kinda around covid. I have seen lots of stuff about how disc golf blew completely up during covid. I think it's cool that the kids are getting out and playing in nature more. Good for them. Plus was looking for something new for me and my son to do.

We are lucky enough to have a really good course walking distance from my neighborhood. Plus there's a quite a few really good ones in the area around Greensboro.

One of the best around here is right outside my town of Kernersville. About 15 mins away from the house. It's Triad Park, and it has the best course around. Very nicely maintained and laid out. Great deviation between wooded and open holes. Lots of fun and interesting holes. Just a really good course, and a good amount of walking there.

Plus it's a nice way to get the wife out too. My wife walks with me while I play sometimes. Just to get out of the house and get some exercise. Sometimes we bring the dog, but he's getting older and that's a lot of walking for our little beagle. I'm 51. I can't throw all that far, but I don't play nearly as much as I'd like. It's just a fun time.

Military related literature from estate sales and thrift stores. Have a small (compared to some) Osprey collection.
