I've learned that I'd never want to work from home full time.

I had a recruiter contact me on LinkedIn earlier this week about a 100% remote position and I didn't even respond after doing this shite for 3 weeks

People always want to blame somebody when something goes terribly wrong.
Also, I like the idea that life has slowed down a bit.

I have learned that we as a nation are evidently willing to give up our freedoms for temporary security just because someone has a dry cough.

It's sad but there it is.

You do not want to go on a respirator. Few people that go on, come off.

I learned that I underestimated people (in general). More people than not are not completely selfish and many are even willing to put themselves at risk to help others.

This for me as well
This has been a fascinating time and I’m shocked what I’ve seen. although I’ve been shocked that I’ve seen very similar to this (well not this extreme) since I lived here

1) My family doesn't think I actually work.

2) Teaching math to a 6 year old is hard.

3) People have a really hard time with "mute" buttons.

4) I really don't need to drive an hour to my office everyday.

5) I missed running everyday.

These people are called sociopaths. It's at least 1% of the population and as many as 1 in 25 depending on who you believe. Basically these are the assholes that only care about themselves and don't have empathy for others.

I've learned little that I wasn't already aware of about human nature and reactions to situations like these. I've been through Katrina and a couple other evacuations. There are good people, bad people, scared people, calm people, helpful people, selfish people and opportunistic people.

What I have learned is if there is another virus which is as contagious as this but has a 10% fatality rate, we're fricked.

Even in a time when we are all forced to stay at home and away from people, you can't have an introspective thought and learn something about yourself?

Things that were reaffirmed:

Some people are mentally soft

Things I learned:
There are more generous people than I thought
Toilet paper hoarders are retards

You pretty much summed it up.. And I forgot about the people who hoard shite/stack up on supplies. There are some things that you don't have to get as much as possible.. Because if it ever got to the point where that product is no longer available, at some point you will have to find other ways to do it.

People have survived on this Earth a lot longer without the luxuries we have today so maybe its time that the younger people today should have to go to some type of class to learn skills that would help them be more self sufficient.

That our lives belong to God and that my family Is important. This is a wake up call for me to start putting God first and in doing so, taking things out like pornography and selfishness.

Being grateful for each day.
