What happens when we take off the masks?

1. Initially we were told this virus was here to stay and had to work its way through the population but without a vaccine or HI we needed to shut everything down to flatten the curve so hospitals weren't overwhelmed. Flattening the curve meant extending the covid "season". But we flattened the curve.
2. Then they said everyone needed to wear a mask to protect themselves and slow the spread. A lot of people didn't think the risk was worth it, didn't think the mask would stop a virus so they didn't wear a mask.
3. The narrative changed again. The mask isn't to protect you, it's to protect others from you. You see, your mask won't stop the virus from coming in but it will stop it from going out. A circular logic that has more holes in it than my mask.
So let's concede for arguments sake that we wear masks and knock down the virus in four weeks. Then what? Covid still there. Why wouldn't infections start all over again? Are we to become a mask-wearing society in perpetuity? What's the point of delaying the inevitable? Why has HI become a thing to avoid?

So you don't believe science?
Downvoters apparently think surgeons don't need to wear masks. It's possible to think these mandates are stupid without going full retard, you know.

If it works we will be mandated to wear masks until a vaccine comes out, so forever

You are committed to the mask forever.
Right now everyone is ignoring the fact that flu is much more dangerous to kids and young people than covid.
Come November they will conveniently recognize this fact and use it to continue your mask obedience.
And flu damn sure isn't going anywhere.
Fools have bought into this insane idea that we can prevent all human illness.

Because there are “studies” that show that antibodies produced for this virus are temporary, and herd immunity can’t happen. Whether you believe that or not is up to you.

I think y’all should prepare yourselves to the idea of mask being a part of society for at least the next year

We are to become a mask-wearing society in perpetuity.

We've been wearing masks our whole lives, we hide our true selves in a passive attempt to maintain normalcy
It's time we got real with ourselves and others

Are you ignoring the fact that most being used in public aren’t medical grade masks? People are basically wearing t shirts over their face.

And most are made in china.

And even that still greatly reduces the transmission chances.

It has become crystal clear that we are going to be doing crap like this and bouncing around from one mandate to another until a vaccine is widely available.

Ok well if antibodies are that temporary, in that case a vaccine would be very unlikely to work. So how long are we supposed to stay wearing masks, distancing etc?

Cold and flu season has the potential to be quite mild if we are wearing face coverings in public
