are you talking about the geese and ducks that live in the drainage canal in Metairie?
kind of. They come into our neighborhood by the lake, no one really cares if they feed them in the canals

I have never understood this brag.

"Look! I just paid 4.99 for a bottle of ketchup at Robért." I could have gotten it for $2.49 a mile down the road, but...Robért."

I'm like, "You see my new boat? That $500 a month extra you give Robért for groceries? I send it to the bank as a boat payment."

Robert kind of sucks. Shitty selection, shittier prices

Ads, classifieds, sponsored posts, fake recommendations that are really by business owner, and Nextdoor adding neighborhoods from nearby cities automatically to feeds. Also, Constantly repeated posts of a similar nature because of near neighborhoods around perimeter that don't see each other posts while we do (on top of people having different NN settings). Also a lot of lost pets.

It's a big cluster. Even pertinent posts that slip through end up accidentally posting to all near neighborhoods what is really a neighborhood post making it hard to respond without people in 2 other cities seeing it. Post then also get so much misinformation, because people respond based on their HOA, schools, or their city.

We also had a problem with the always offended from near neighborhoods showing up and starting stuff. 99% of over complainers were complaining or having a concern about a white person or kid, but god forbid someone posts about a black person in a similar way. White SJWs including power hungry leads from near neighborhoods then have a fit even if they stood by saying nothing when their white neighbors were bitched about.

If neighborhood doesn't have active & fair leads posters aren't even from there or using real name half the time which is also a problem with sales items and "recommendations". This is multiplied with near neighborhoods. It really needs to have a true neighborhood only feed not just what is really a filter selecting posters from neighborhood while forcing you to verify how many neighborhoods or cities will see reply.

We have a private FB group that works better and better controlled to just include neighbors (fairly large neighborhood so don't need near neighborhoods of Nextdoor to get responses or entertaining drama). There is still drama which can be kind of funny at times especially when you know or know of a person involved or ones replying just to stir the pot, but it's our drama and usually more good comes out of it than bad being just our neighborhood. It is better for helping neighbors in need as most crap of Nextdoor is from people I have never met and also seems fake half the time. It also keeps their story or needs a little more internal.

How much do you spend on groceries that there is a $500 difference with maybe a 10% increase.

Some crazy lady in south Baton Rouge started a post about fireworks and it was triggering vets with PTSD and dogs. Then some vets get on and say it OK, they are cool with it. So then she just doubles down on the dog issue. I think the thread ended with a bunch of folks posting “support Our Vets”, which in the end, is a good thing.

Unlike the OT, Nextdoor is not an intellectual mosh pit !

I believe I have the most interesting Thread in my neighborhood about a PERVERT. PERVERT ALERT. I’m not kidding. I copy and pasted word for word. There’s been over 156 comments about this whether it’s other women being approached by him as well in the same manner. Even husbands are chiming in on trying to get this guy. The pervert is still on the loose.

PERVERT!!!! (The Topic)
I was just approached a second time by the same man at Winn Dixie. The first time I thought he was challenged so i tried to be kind. This time.. not so much. He asks you for help with a birthday cake and then asks for a hug. The first time i mistakenly gave him a hug and he pushed his privates against me. I pushed him back and he walked off and gave himself a thumbs up. I looked all over the store to try to get a photo and report him but he disappeared. Tonight... again he appeared out of no where and approached me the exact same way... advice on a birthday cake. I backed up and sternly told him he already asked me that 2 weeks ago. I stepped back and waited for him to walk off. I reported it to the nearest employee and once again looked all over the store to try to find him and he disappeared. Be ware! Be warned! Do not fall for It. He is not challenged. This birthday cake business is a tactic he is using to be inappropriate!

So that’s been quite fun to follow.

10% my arse.

I can shop Whole Foods, Fresh Market, or even high arse Publix and spend 50-100% more on what I can get at a couple food outlets close by or even Walmart Neighborhood Market.

Even Food City is a lot more expensive. I can get the sausage I like for $3.99 at Food City or $2.68 at the Neighborhood Market. Black Label bacon? 12 oz for 5.99 or 16 oz for $4.68.

It adds up quick.

Stumberg/Coursey
A few comments:
“This sounds like the same douchebag that approached me about a year ago at Walmart on Coursey. He told me it was his birthday and I should give him a hug. I vaguely remember him talking about a cake. Sounds like we need to be careful in all grocery stores in this area.”
“Oh my goodness!!!! This happened to me too a couple of weeks ago. I thought the same thing initially...poor mentally challenged guy...then with the creepy hug. I will definitely report him if I see him again.”
“ He was at Albertson on Jonescreek on Sunday Nov3. I remembered it was between 5:00 to 6:00 pm. I was on the aisle close to the frozen section. He came and asked me about the birthday cake.... same story, and asked for a hug. I told him, sorry, I dont hug people I don't know. He asked for a handshake, I gave him a quick handshake. He was weird. I told him my husband is around here somewhere in the store. He left that aisle right after I said that. I also thought he looks a bit challenged.”
“ Mid 30’s i think. Short hair appears to be dirty blonde or light brown. Same length both times 2 weeks apart so he keeps up with it. Face shaved but not perfectly smooth. Not fat but he has a little extra in the middle. He’s less than 6’ tall. If i had to guess i’d say 5’10” ish.. maybe. Jeans, greenish colored plain tshirt, tennis shoes. I tried to find him because i wanted a photo for this very reason. It is so hard to describe what someone looks like. Face was more on the round side. I honestly think he had the same or very similar clothes on both times.
No buggy or groceries either time.”

Ya welcome!

What a weird thing to melt over. The store before it was just as expensive yet not as nice. The olds just don’t like change.

I doubt I spend anywhere near $500 on groceries any month no matter where they came from, much less it being the difference from one to the other.
