My dad always had one. I usually always have one and if I don't, I have one in my truck.

I find a knife much more useful to have than a watch which the OT seems to love.

When I’m away from the house, I have to have a watch. But the moment I come home it’s the first thing I take off. Not sure why, but it’s just one of my habits.

Right pocket: Pen and pocket knife
Left pocket: Keys and cell phone
Back right: Koozie or nothing
Back left: Wallet

Not sure I'd ever want to keep a pocket knife in a back pocket. That seems uncomfortable.

Some cannot carry certain items like knives due to legal responsibilities, and I totally understand that.

I guess I'm just at odds with those who don't carry a knife because they think its somehow "beneath them".

I'm making a point that yeah you can use a box cutter, but not everyone works in the stockroom and carries a frickin box cutter

TH would rather be associated with airplane hijackers than country boys. Who the frick carries a box cutter in their pocket but gets their panties in a twist at people carrying a pocket knife?

Me too. I usually just take one of my pocket knives and cut through the band though. It's expensive but it makes me feel barbaric.

Likely a "peeling off the day" kind of mental thing.

I find that I generally take off my "work watches" (ironically, my dress watches) as soon as I get home. But on the weekends, I'll wear my wristwatch until I'm getting ready for bed.

We had a kid over from England doing training with us here in Alabama. He was shocked that nearly everyone carried knives. It's illegal for them to carry any type of knife in England.

I hope he went home & told every single person how safe it was around all those law abiding knife possessors.

Bought the oldest son a Swiss Army knife when he was a tenderfoot scout - maybe 40 years back. A few months later I needed to cut something and asked him for his knife. He didn't want to give it to me and when he finally did, I noticed the corkscrew thing was missing - broken off.

I asked how that happened and he said he didn't know. After five minutes of threats and I don't know responses, he said it broke off while he was trying to screw it into a tree. I just laughed.

He doesn't carry it, but he still has that knife.

Why the shite would I keep my phone in the pocket that coincides with my non-dominant hand?

Are you trying to be subtle about admitting you have a purse?

Also, I carried a pocket knife in high school. Stopped in college.

Just started carrying one again about 6 months ago (I'm 53)

It's one of those things most of us can do without in our daily lives, but having one makes life easier. I find since I've started carrying one again it's come in handy over and over.

Also, I got a Ken Onion sharpener. Holy shite that things is worth every penny.

Again, not me.

God bless the English/Literature teachers you had growing up. Your reading comprehension is shite.
