It was revolutionary at the time in that it combined the auto fire of a sub-machine gun with the range and stopping power of a rifle.
And an intermediate round

Gun baws, is there such thing as an assault rifle?
Yes, but unless you have a federal license (which is virtually impossible to get) you can’t buy or possess them.

News Channel 3 in Memphis the other night when reporting on the "riots" in North Memphis kept saying over and over again that the police had "assault rifles"...they clearly had pump shotguns

Exactly. By basically shortening the regular German rifle round, they were able to create the assault rifle.

Don Lemon said that he walked into a gun shop, bought a full auto rifle, and walked out the door with it in 20 minutes. When his guest told him there was no way he did that, he went into a tizzy. After he was called out for thinking semiautomatic and automatic were the same thing, he called it "semantics"

I guess you could argue the FG 42 was first but it was more of a full auto battle rifle.

The blackness drives them crazy!

A rifle with Select fire capability.

If I take a regular hunting rifle and beat someone with it, is it now considered an assault rifle?

So this is an “assault rifle”? (In my phone so I can’t just post the picture easily)

What about AR or AK pistols?

And just to demonstrate how retarded the NFA laws are, this is a pistol and not a rifle
I have two of those. The “stock” is labeled as a “brace” keeping the gun classified as a pistol instead of a short barrel rifle and avoiding the ATF registration requirement.

Seems like every AR weenie on Reddit has one of those "pistols" with the "arm brace" you're not supposed to shoulder nowadays. Such a bunch of weenies; muh disabled vets - muh wound cavity - muh .300 Blackout.

How does having one make someone a weenie? It’s not like they are shooting a radically different gun.

I just meant "weenie" as in "nerd." Some of those dudes are way too obsessed with ARs and could really use some fresh air. Also, that "hand brace" shite is going to backfire one day. The feds do not take kindly to little loopholes like that.

Blah, they clarified that. Said it's fine to shoulder. Doesnt constitute a redesign.

The ATF said it was ok

Not true.
An individual can buy a full automatic gun same as a suppressor.
$200 stamp. The caveat is the gun has to be manufactured prior to 1986 and in the US since then as well.
Main reason more people don’t is because a transferable m16 (for example) will cost someone between $20k-35k
