for the record millennials is considered those that graduated in the new millenial so class of 2000. I am a 2nd year millenial(2001 grad, 82 birth) and I dont know of any millennials that went to woodstock 99. that was a Gen X thing that was essentially made up of Gen Xers who never got over the grunge movement.

Just like portland and seatle people didnt represent the rest of the country during grunge, hippies at woodstock didnt represent the rest of the country in the 60s and woodstock 99 didnt represent genx of the 90s.

doesnt really say shite about anything except liberals in the NW and NE dont represent the rest of the country, no matter the generation.

not gonna lie though, some good music came from grunge and woodstock99

According to the documentary, the health official that tested the “free” water said it was so full of shite that when they opened the door that held the samples overnight, the smell made them sick.

I drank the free water the entire time. It tasted fine. I did throw up the day after the event ended. All these years, I thought that happened because I essentially starved for 3 days and then gorged myself on McDonald’s once I left. Now I know it was probably E. coli. LOL Still had a great time. I bet if you took a random poll of people who were there, the large majority would say they enjoyed it.

I was born on 1975 so I am solidly Gen X.

In 1999, I was kicking in doors in Serbia and Kosova.

I had to lol at the hypocrisy of this statement.

What makes it hypocritical?

Whats his personal philosophy?

Which side is all in on "identity politics?"

Yeah, that's bullshite. I'm Gen X and hate everything about Nu Metal. My brother was born in 82 and he and all of his friends in high school were all about Limp Bizkit and those other shitty bands.

Very little music that is worth a shite has been released in the last 25+ years.

I was born in 1981 and we went out and got drunk, smoked weed, chased girls and still dragged our arse to work two hours later.

Not to mention no social media, smartphones, little internet. You had to actually leave the house to talk to people and it wasn’t politics or religion.

If break stuff isn’t on your workout playlist, we aren’t friends and you can’t come to my birthday party

After watching the 3 part doc, the biggest thing I came away with was that’s a culmination of what happens when a generation of nihilistic hippies raise kids.

I believe it showed a generation of people that had been brought up in such luxury, spoiled their entire lives, that they just do not give a frick about anything. I think it drove home Dostoyevsky’s point on utopia.

Mostly what happens when soft baby boomers try and raise kids based on what they wanted their childhood to be.

Very lucky to have the immune system that you do - still think it was crappy (pun intended) for MTV to do that to you.

What happened to the other Woodstock thread where they had the still shot of Limp Bizkit and the crowd? Did anyone throw out a time stamp when something good was shown in the hour long video?

I'm Gen X and couldn't stand Nu Metal either. To this day I can't stand to listen to Limp Bizcuit, Kid Rock or Korn. I think Gen X is kind of split with those that liked grunge and didn't care for Nu Metal and those that liked Nu Metal and grunge. No one hated grunge.
