Reading the Texas thread had me curious.

Pros: mostly good weather, pretty scenery with the trees, commerce, COL is decent for a large city, best airport in the country, not a far drive to the beach or mountains, something for everyone.

Cons: traffic, traffic, traffic, overrated food scene, shitty sports teams minus the Braves, real estate market, and demographics.

It probably has the most attractive black women per capita.

You probably woudn’t live in Atlanta proper anyway but in one of the Northern subs.

This is a Louisiana based board so most people will say it sucks. Without fail every time this thread comes up weekly, what you'll notice is that the ones screaming the loudest about how bad it sucks are also the ones that have never even been there other than for a concert or sporting event...in other words they've never left the tiny little bubble in the heart of downtown.

Took my wife and daughter to the aquarium a couple of weeks ago. Traffic is god awful. I can’t understand why anyone would want to live there.

Like anyplace it depends on where you live. You couldn't pay me to live in the Atlanta suburbs in 2025.

After leaving the aquarium, we went up to Kennesaw. Really nice. And they have one of the best hobby stores I’ve ever seen.

Would avoid Atlanta if I could. Like I said about Houston. If you have an opportunity to grow your career then sure go for it but if all things are equal why would anyone just voluntarily move to Atlanta?

Nobody wants to live in major metros. They’re forced.

I actually dig Atlanta. As far as big sunbelt cities I feel like it's the nicest aesthetically.

It's also located such that it's easy driving distance to a lot of other nice places (which is one of my big hang-ups with Texas cities) and, of course, by air.

But, yeah the traffic really sucks.

The Atlanta Falcons once blew a 28-3 lead in the Super Bowl

A guy who works the model train department there is a member of our model RR club. Not a bad store, but overpriced IMO.

We’ll definitely go back; probably in the next few months. It’s an easy drive from my house, about 2-3 hours. And I don’t even have to get close to I-20 to get there.
