CA news article about the people leaving for Texas

quote:

California exports more than commodities such as movies, new technologies and produce. It also exports truck drivers, cooks and cashiers.
Every year from 2000 through 2015, more people left California than moved in from other states. This migration was not spread evenly across all income groups, a Sacramento Bee review of U.S. Census Bureau data found. The people leaving tend to be relatively poor, and many lack college degrees. Move higher up the income spectrum, and slightly more people are coming than going.

quote:

Why are people leaving? Economic reasons, the high cost of living, are certainly a part of it,” said Hans Johnson, senior fellow at the nonpartisan Public Policy Institute of California. “For those people (near the poverty line), California is not viable.”
By some measures, California has the highest poverty rate in the nation.

"Our policies led to our state being a mess, but they'll work this time in Texas!"

Now where have I heard that line before...

Seems like they are importing productive citizens and exporting nonproductive ones

It would be interesting if they could break down the numbers so we can see how many of these people are just moving back home or to other places after moving to cA and finding out it wasn't the wonderland they expected.

Texans don’t move to California anymore, they go to Colorado now.
No joke.
At one point I talked to 4 buddies, separately, in a single day, and all 4 told me they plan to move to Colorado at some point after they graduate.

They are raising housing prices to the point I am looking to leave the area. Our house has went up in value almost $60k since moving 2.5 years ago. Our previous house went up another $40k before we sold that one beginning of 2016. I love the DFW area but not the property taxes

Value based on Zillow.

Is there any actual proof Californians are coming to Texas and making it a Democrat state? Seems more like the reason Texas is going dem is because we are getting more “Hispanics” and other minorities and they tend to vote dem.
I’m sure not too many Californians move to San Antonio, but I have met a few, and they are all trump fans or lean trump.

Sure, they are coming, but is there any proof they are not just conservative Californians fleeing? Just like Tucker Carlson, born in California, but he says he would never dream of living there again.
