I hear ya. Hopefully it lasts a very long time. I was willing to pay more for something that won't break in 5 years.

My parents have an expensive Maytag HE washer. It takes like an hour to wash clothes. I have a refurbished old-school washer that I got for $75. It takes 20 minutes and cleans better. I always have grease or dirt of some sort on me.

Easy decision

I don't care for HE machines. I also don't think they get the clothes as clean. I miss the agitator. I think it cleans clothes better.

I have an old ge that wouldn’t dry shite. I used to say that it’s not saving energy if I have to dry everything twice.

Moved.

Swapped power cord to a higher voltage circuit at new house and it works great now.

If your dryer isn’t drying, try upgrading the voltage of the power outlet.

Did you get caught sitting on the washing machine during the spin cycle?

NO shortage of agitators in Cali.

May take you up on it. We're looking at different places and we would want to live. NC has always been an option for my sister.

I won't leave if my sister and niece don't come. No way I could miss out on that little stinker.

whirlpool Cabrio was a hunk of shite. Like my new Maytag with an agitator and high level rinse feature. seems to work a lot better.

Yeah, I wanted to buy an old school Kenmore last month when our fancy HE Whirlpool broke. Of course, my wife insisted on a fancy new HE LG washer that hooks up to the internet.

I hate my HE washer and dryer! The clothes only seem clean when I use the bulky/bedding cycle. Otherwise there isn’t even enough water to thoroughly wet the clothes. Sometimes I have to run the dryer 2 or three times to get the clothes actually dry. I almost can’t wait til they break so I can buy the old school kind again.

My he dryer is fine, and I suppose my washer works as it’s supposed to, but I hate it.

When I bought the set 2 years ago I had no clue what he was or that almost every machine was he. I was used to the traditional style and figured that’s what was still being sold in stores.

The first time I used it at home I thought it was broken. It doesn’t clean as well, is loud as frick, and takes forever. I’d be happy if I was able to override the he function and fill water to the top.

I’ll give zero shits if it breaks as I’ll be buying a speed queen next.

My parents are on their second set of he machines. Don't work well.

Our washer is a good 20 years old.

Runs like a top.

Look at Fischer Paykel
HE with an agitator and water level controls if you don’t like the ones programmed into the machine
Spins ultra fast on some cycles and cuts down on drying times
Side note, I don’t believe that any of these new appliances will last more than 15 years

I feel like washer/dryer technology has advanced far slower than the rest of the everyday things we use. I would have fully expected that the norm would be having one machine to do the washing and drying by now.

I can’t understand why my new Samsung dryer takes 1:15 to dry a load when they were rinsed/spun at the speed of light.

Also, the lint trap on the Samsung’s is the shittiest design I think they could have made. I constantly have to clean the lint screen on the exhaust vent on the outside of the house. A ton of lint gets through the dryer. I’m sure there is a good bit trapped in the dryer that I need to clean out soon.
