What do you think about the GX 460? WYBI?

My wife has the old 470. She likes it.

Looks like an over priced 4Runner.

It's a Lexus. So yes, that's exactly what it is.

giant waste of money. Overpriced Toyota.

Looks very nice. Would be willing to buy for $25-$30k.

I think they are better bought used. Toyota reliability, but don't seem to maintain their resale value as much as the 4 runner.

Lol. Of course not.
That’s what I would pay today, new.

Not the GX, but had an ES350 that got totaled in a wreck. My rental while figuring out insurance was a Toyota. I can look past not having the bells and whistles. But after driving the Lexus for some time, there is plenty of difference. Road noise, steering, etc all easily different.

I don't think you can get that V8 on a 4 runner.

4Runner V6 is only now. They may change up the engine in the 2019 model, but Toyota has been pretty reluctant to change anything on them.

As girlie trucks go I like the Infinity more but it's still pretty nice.

My wife has one, and we love it. She was about to buy another 4 Runner limited, but much to our surprise the GX 460 wasn't much different in price. Good gas mileage, excellent ride, and looks great.

It only looks good from the front.
It looks really dated from the side and back.
I think it requires premium fuel too, if that matters to you.

Actually you are wrong. The 4 Runner and GX 460 have significant differences starting with the chassis. The GX is built off the Landcruiser Prado chassis while the 4 Runner has its own. The GX has a V8 engine while the 4 Runner has a V6. Add on the all the upgrades of the GX 460 and it is significantly better especially on long ride. I own a 2010 with 155K miles on it without a single mechanical issue (however, I meticulously follow the maintenance recommendations).

The current V6 has more power than the previous body’s V8. Id love it if we could’ve gotten a newer V8 in our 4Runner.

Yeah, people don't realize this. Although we did briefly look at the GX for my wife, I don't remember a ton about it. But I know when I was buying my car, the ES350 started out only a couple thousand more than the high trim level Avalon. And the lower trim ES was basically equivalent to the Avalon fully loaded. And overall the vehicle just has better fit and finish to make up for the small difference in price.
My wife has an Infiniti now. I admit that is a "nicer" Nissan. It's nice, but you could tell they are dolling up a cheaper brand name. Lexus felt good. It is more worth the upgrade to me. I would go back to the brand in a heart beat (decided to go back to truck after car was totaled). Wife just wanted something more mid-sized at the time we got hers and the RX is pretty ugly and didn't have a 3rd row.
