Planning on either Baylor or OU, decided on Baylor. The morning I was leaving on my senior trip with my buddies after graduation, my dad told me that he thought paying all that money for me to go to Baylor was a bad investment on his part. Felt like something straight from Van Wilder. He did just pay for my sister to go to a private university in Chicago and didn’t want to pay all that money again. I was pissed at him for the summer but that ended up being the best thing to happen to me. Stayed in BR and went to LSU and the rest is history.

Almost took a job that would’ve had me transfer from LSU to Clemson after freshman year. Decided against the move last minute and I think it worked out in the long run.

Had baseball scholarship to West Virginia and Lamar. Chose Lamar instead. Sometimes regret it sometimes don't.

SMU is a fine option if you don’t get into UT but Boulder is a cool place too. Depends which is better in that field (probably SMU)

I strongly considered St. Edwards, Baylor, and Notre Dame, but I was damn close to following a girl to USM.

Glad how it all turned out by going to LSU.

I almost went to Norte Dame or West Point. Those were my two top choices but I stayed home because of TOPS.

Air Force Academy (dad had connections) or Baylor (was living in Waco in high school and my dad worked there).

A&M was always my first choice, though. Didn't even complete my Baylor application once I found out I was admitted to TAMU.

Wouldn't have met my wife or gotten the job I have now without going to A&M. Very blessed, very thankful for that institution and the Association of Former Students.

When I was 18, out of high school and in the Army Reserves, I knew a girl whose dad was a retired admiral and just non chalantly said he could get me into the academy.

And I was accepted to LSU, but went to community college in North Alabama instead.

University of Maryland. Wanted to play baseball there and they showed mild interest. Coach told me to come enroll and participate in walk on tryouts. Decided it wasn't worth moving that far from home just for a tryout and no scholarship even though it was my only chance at a DI school. Ended up turning down opportunities from a few NAIA schools, just said frick it, quit playing and went to LSU.

I sometimes wish I'd have tried it, but wouldn't have met my wife, found the job I have now, etc. so overall I don't regret it.

You had to pick three schools to send your ACT and SAT scores to.

I sent them to LSU, Nichols, and Harvard.

I received an offer of academic scholarship from two of them. One of them I did not expect
