Scrappers buy them and don't ask any questions. Until they start putting serial numbers on the converters themselves and require documentation to buy/sell them, this won't end.
Seems like they should just make it illegal for scrappers to buy them, or make it much more difficult to where they can't just buy them from any individual without having validation as to where the converters came from. It is pretty obvious if a crackhead looking mofo pops in with a few random cats. Anyone that has more than one would essentially be from a muffler shop or some business.

We have enough laws, enforce them

Boy, that’s some low life’s right there, huh?
Yep. And not uncommon. The school I worked at a few years ago had a family that was using underage kids to put card skimmers on gas station pumps. Have the kids do the dirty work and if they get picked up their a minor.

Nothing. Enforcing laws against property crimes is racist.

Same with the window smashers in New Orleans. They send the kids to do it because they'll just get a slap on the wrist

Why don’t manufacturers put protective skid plates on at the factory or up close to the manifold so they’re not so accessible .

its not hard, you just require the scrappers its illegal to buy them from anyone other then a licensed automotive shop and all sales require the business tax ID number on the recipts
its really easy, they wont steal it if they cant sell it
but it sure doesnt help that a single cat sells at around $300 each as scrap metal

Insure the converter like a decent person, and let them steal as many as they need to feed their family. If you catch them in the act, lend them a hand so they don't hurt themselves.

stop putting this unnecessary part on vehicles and they'll stop stealing it. anybody who thinks a cc is needed is an automobile fool.

Skid plates for catalytic converter protection. They've been out for a while.
Yay! Pass the cost that the scum thieves create on to everyday Joe Consumer. The American way.

It should be completely legal to execute anyone caught stealing cats right there in the street.
Toss em in a dumpster

Also lay out new cutting blades, so they can continue feeding their families without having to incur costs of new blades

Just curious. Anyway to have this included in insurance?

It is covered by insurance if you have comp coverage. You have to pay your deductible.
