I'm so politically unaware, I didn't know there was a boycott.
However, the prices aren't so much a being too high, but the dollar just doesn't buy what it used to.
If you pump made up dollars into the world, it dilutes the dollar's buying power. With less or no more billions being pumped into the Ukraine and USAid being put under scrutiny, perhaps that can be partially reversed.
But I'm supposing most people with common sense already know this.

Imagine being salty about people standing up to monopolistic corporations.

Nothing different than any non-boycott day and more for a Mardi Gras weekend

I bought shite for folks I didn't know who didn't need it.
Just sent random shite to random residential addresses via Amazon.

Grocery stores were nice and empty. I was able to get some grocery shopping done.

I just don't understand wtf not shopping for one day is suppose to do. People are just going to spend twice as much tomorrow.

What/who are we supposed to boycott today?!?! and why?
Posted on 2/28/25 at 5:06 pm to LSUFanHouston
I filled my truck up with gas this morning. Went to the store and bought groceries to bring to the camp. Cooked a big pot of jambalaya from what I bought this morning on boycott day. Now I'm killing fish from the dock at my camp while eating jambalaya, drinking a cold beer, and my two dogs are next to me looking over the water and enjoying this beautiful evening. God Bless America!

I thought it was supposed to be a buy local day, and just not buying things from national chains.
Maybe so. I don't keep up with the specifics because like I said earlier it's dumb. Hell, I had no idea there was a boycott today until I read the OP.
Local vs chain on one day a year may give the "little guy" some lagniappe but in the grand scheme of things it won't change anything until there is a commitment to changing long term spending habits.

That's not because there was a one day boycott. That's because they followed the bud light model where customers left and didn't come back.

I bought about $1000 worth of parade throws after deciding the $1000 I spent already wasn’t enough

Built their model to appeal to the DEI loving crowd
Then went 180
But have not made any moves to replace their customers
