Portsmouth New Hampshire is nice, plus you get the SIG HQ and live free or die motto
Traverse City Michigan and the leelanau peninsula still top my list
Lacrosse Wisconsin s another good one

Boerne....more of a suburb of San Antonio now but still a nice town.

Savannah GA and Charleston aren't small, but they have that feel too.

Grand Marais MN. Fishing and logging town on the shore of Lake Superior just below the Canadian border. Easy access to Isle Royale.

Anywhere on the Leelanau Peninsula is also great, but I'd move back to Northern Minnesota in a heartbeat
