You can literally replace an ice maker a hell of a lot cheaper than an entire fridge
You can tell who's never owned a French door Samsung.

I've liked a few whirlpools I've seen. I haven't seen one that has the features I like and is counter depth.

This.
Look for something without a bunch of bells and whistles. Give me a basic, reliable fridge any day. The top end ones with all the features will cost more to repair than to buy a no frills unit.

Napolean has said not to buy a refrigerator with only two letters in its name (GE LG). He gave a light recommendation for Frigidaire. Keep in mind this was a few years ago and brands merge, get better/worse.

The Samsung’s suck in my experience.

Yea, I felt happy enough just to get it all put back together. Thing was a bitch.
The assembly replacement was easy enough to get in, but after $120 and a several hours tinkering with it, I'm done.
My wife really likes an LG she saw, but I'm guessing those are on par with Samsung?

My ice doesn’t get enough water pressure to make the full size cubes and my water on door comes out like a dribble. fricking annoying

We have an LG with the double refrigerator doors and freezer drawer and ice maker at the bottom. We really like it.
Plus the deep freezer in the laundry room and outside fridge is more than enough room for us.

I understand completely. My ice maker makes ice, but it won't stop making ice because the sensor part is broken. Have to take everything out to put it back where it belongs and I just refuse to do it. We just set an alarm to turn it off manually when it fills up.

God I wish that was the problem.

My frigidaire ice maker broke so I called them and they wanted $450 to come out and guarantee to fix it.
Found a 5 foot tall 70 year old Jewish guy on Craigslist that came out last week and fixed it for $70 with parts. Felt guilty
He’s worked for Conns repair for 35 years and does this on the side and he lives 10 minutes from me.
I’m waiting for another appliance to break so I can shoot the shite with him again

I have a French door LG and it’s the same thing. Unfortunately I’ve had to repair my ice maker 3 or 4 times already. It’s a pain in the arse.

I have a kenmore in laundry room that is 25 years old and have to fix nothing on it. It’s a 2w cubic inch. Moved into a bigger house 20 years ago and bought same fridge just 25 cubic inch. Have only replaced start relay switch which I did myself. Outside of original price, I have spent about $500 on both and that includes the replacement of water filters.

Whirlpool has been good to me

No offense here, bubba. Have you not been completely worthless in this thread?

To your credit, your LG post was the first one of value. Thanks.

Go with Whirlpool. They've been making refrigerators for decades. As far as I know Samsung and LG just started in the last decade or so. Whirlpool is an appliance company Samsung and LG are electronics companies. The more "features" an appliance has, the more repairs you will make.

They all suck. Get the extended warranty because it will likely break during the warranty period.
