Jimmy Carter supposedly served on a nuclear submarine before he went into politics. You would think he would have known better than to say "noo cu ler", but the he didn't.

I never thought I would miss that inept, misguided bastard, but I'm reconsidering it these days.

Used to have a subcontractor that couldn’t pronounce mezzanine or aluminum correctly. It was:
Mezza-leen
A-loo-mi-um

How does everyone pronounce pecan?

I know the way I say it is probably the way not to say it, I say pu.. as in puppy or puppet.. con... like saying corn without the r.. pucorn.. the r is silent. But most people say Pea-can... or Pea-con (con as in a scam artist.. con man). Is there a right way to pronounce this word?

I once had someone try to give me directions to a destination.

They told me to "turn right on Far Tar Road and drive for two miles."

It's a good think I'm fluent in redneck vernacular, or I would have driven right past Fire Tower Road.

Also, my dad refers to oil as “all”.
Is your dad from Bayou Sorrel or Bayou Pigeon ?? That's how everybody down there pronounces "oil."
