What are some items with insanely high margins that are inflation proof?

My son is at camp this week and at the end of every day, one of the parents gives quarters to the campers to get a gum ball.
I was thinking about growing up in the early to mid 90s when I’d beg for quarters for the gum ball machine.
Vendors must have made a killing back then.

Idk the margins but people will pay their last dime to get rid of bugs.
Pest control seems as recession-proof as it gets.

A twenty dollar blowjob is still twenty dollars?
I guess the next logical step is 50, but that is a long way to go.

You paid quarters for gumballs as a kid?

Pet care is one of the most recession proof businesses. There is no limit to the price people will pay for their pets. My research on this topic is limited to personal experiences.

Vending machines back in the day only took cash.
A fellow could be very creative as to his income from those machines with respect to his taxes.
A now-deceased member of Mrs Füt’s family (no pics) had a bunch of them throughout NOLA & Metry/Kennah.
All candy and gum machines only, no drink machines.

Quite the opposite actually it’s been in a recession since 2024. There was a big boom during and shortly after COVID. While client costs are high, so are costs for the clinics. Many clinics both private and corporate haven’t been able to keep the doors open the past few years.

You can thank private equity for pet care costs.
