All the “it’s full”, “don’t tell anyone”, “nah, it’s a terrible place” comments are incredibly lame and too commonplace in these threads

If you get bored easily and want some shear excitement Chicago, New Orleans, Detroit, and Baltimore are worth a look.

I hesitate to say how much I enjoy living in Bend, OR

Had friends that moved there a couple of years ago and hated it. They said its full of pretentious, self-entitled assholes and that's saying something since they are from Dallas.

On a side note, any of y'all brother in laws with the sheriff? I got a ticket last week they’re doing 67 in a 50. That entire hwy is 65pmh except for about 30' when you pass through Fenton. First time I've ever driven through there in my life, had my cruise set on 67. Lesson learned.
Likelihood of you getting out of this ticket?

OP: Where the best place would be for me to live has changed as my life has changed.

Me as a Young Adult, Middle Age, Late Middle Age, and into Retirement?

All four are different.

All in jest, kind of. I've had a good run for 30 years here and ready to hand it off to the next group in about 5 years.

Saw an article recently where Knoxville had the fewest available percentage of units available in the country. We're full, not even a joke. Especially full when it comes to affordable housing. If you have a mill you'll be alright.

I get you love your home and all but Knoxville isn't knocking on the door of most expensive or desirable places to live. A milli will do you right there, but you literally can't afford a single family home in Boulder without that much

This. Along with the “baw”, “Bawcomville”, “Three - fiddy” comments, etc. This board largely sucks and has gone considerably down hill in the past 5 years.

Donaldsonville but it’s full. We’re not taking applicants.
