Russia is less than 50 miles from the US

actually Big Diomede island (Russia) is about 2.5 miles from Lttile Diomede (U.S). When winter comes and this area is iced over, it is theoretically possible to walk from the US to Russia.

Florida is the only state where the further north you travel the more Southern you get.

Sorry. Hard to phrase.

If you are anywhere in Texas, the closest foreign nation is Mexico. If you are anywhere in Michigan, the closest foreign nation is Canada.

There are parts of Alabama and Mississippi that the closest foreign nation is one of four.

The older I get, the more I think like Javert on this. Criminals are criminals. It’s a mindset that can’t be changed. Lock the MFers up.

It’s actually not even close. Canada is 100 miles closer than Memphis.

I knew that some of the Florida panhandle was Central Time, but I did not know this:

The US is both the 3rd largest (Russia, Canada) and 3rd most populated country in the world. Even though it’s the 3rd most populated, China and India each have 1B+ higher population than the US.

The state of California alone has a higher population than all of Canada and also more Republican voters than any other US state.

The hottest temperature ever recorded on Earth was in Death Valley, CA exactly 111 years ago at 134 degrees. Death Valley is also the lowest point of land in the US at -282 feet below sea level.
