Industrial electrical. Top out as a journeyman around 29 ish/hour. It's not a terrible life.

I'm a Software Engineer and I can confirm that you do not need a degree. I have worked with plenty of people who were amazing and did not have one.

Now, granted, they loved coding and that was a part of the reason they picked it up well.

If not going to college, the considerations should be plant operator and offshore production operator.

Every week I see retiring plant workers and it still surprises me everytime I see a 60 year old with 3 to 5 million in retirement savings. Frequently, they dont even know about 1 to 2 million.

Go to trade school and become an ac tech. Can make 50-60 k pretty easily a few years out.
Then open your won business and make serious cash.

Let's be honest working sucks no matter what the job is.. you will be hard pressed to find a better return on your money than a ptec degree. Not all of us can be porn stars..

I would say skilled trades, many, many cities are desperate for young men to get into plumbing, AC, electric,etc.

Absolutely desperate for peeps.
