What are some career jobs you would recommend to someone graduating High School?

In Louisiana. Besides plant operator and riverboat captain. What jobs and how much money are these guys pulling in?

Why no plant operator ? You can't beat the benefits. How about welder or pipe fitter. All make real good money. A person will make 4 times the cost of their education in the first year.

If you are right out of High School and do not plan to attend college high tail it to Midland, TX.
Young guys with no experience are banking 75-100K a year.
Do this for 5 years and you'll be ahead of your peers.

I didn’t take the OP as being a HS only degree. The advice I would recommend is to go
to college and get a specialized degree that will be in demand for the next 40 years of the kid’s life.
