I started having a few beers at the camp around 16

Honest to god one of the funnest things of being a kid is doing stuff behind your parents back. Why rob them of that?

Does it count if your toddler grabs your drink and takes a quick sip? Asking for a friend of course.
When my kid was about 2 I was watching her while her mom was at the store. I went to the bathroom and when I came back she had about a third of a Bud down and still had it turned up

He's only 16 months old right now, but I figure as soon as he's old enough to mow the lawn, he's old enough to have a beer with me.

Lol kids are fine. We do a beach trip every year and have let the kids bring 4-5 friends since they began hs. I make “hunch punch” that all the kids love. A couple 5ths of 151 and peach schnapps. Some kid always ends up in the bathroom for the night.. completely kills their game. I always let them bring girls they meet on the beach back to party

If we have any insurance guys on the board, there are a couple dudes in this thread who need umbrella policies

For real
We let ours drink at home around 15-16 and under no circumstances were their friends allowed to drink on our property or us provide them with any alcohol. It's a big gamble to provide alcohol to someone elses kid.

How old are these girls? Letting other peoples HS aged kids drink is beyond stupid

They don’t go out to bars their only seniors in hs. They just play a few games of beer pong and then go home or pass out. No harm no foul.

My friends were allowed to drink, too, if they stayed over. If you wanted a beer, then you had to give my folks your car keys.

I don't have kids but would rather them have their first experience w/ alcohol around me/family in a controlled setting vs going ape shite with a bunch of dumb kids for the first time in college. Not saying they won't go off and get drunk in college or even at some point before that, they all do but learning some responsibility that comes with drinking is important.
Kids w/ the most overprotective parents are at most risk to do something stupid once they get out the house.
As for the other poster who allows other HS kids go out drinking if they have uber is playing with fire. Would not allow that shite. Uber or not, parents shouldn't be letting their HS kids go out drinking w/ friends.

We all hung out at my buddy's house down the street and drank in HS. My dad didn't care as long as we stayed in the neighborhood which we of course always obeyed.
