We played a game where you had to touch a door knob after you farted or people would punch you.

It was much safer.

Good. Keeps him from spreading his DNA with the rest of the world.

Good. Equally ridiculous as the kid who volunteered to have arrows shot at him are the kids who agreed to shoot said arrows.

So, does this game entail shooting arrows AT EACH OTHER, or just up in the air and everybody scrambles?

Was the kid shot horizontally thru his head, or vertically downward?

I'm picturing the Sandler film, Grown Ups.

We used to throw lawn darts and hit them with a ball bat. Got one stuck in my arm when I missed. This seems a bit stupider.

I've played chicken with a bow and arrow. Shoot it straight up and first to move loses. Shooting straight at someone and expecting them to dodge is a completely different animal.

Another dumb game is lighting an artillery shell firework and throwing it in the air so you can't tell where it will go.

5. Criminal charges seem absurd--are they suggesting against the parents? The parents of every kid I played with growing up would have been imprisoned under this standard.

For someone who likes to critique the quality of articles and throw around words like "tangential" you sure have horrible reading comprehension.

I don't remember whipping the darts AT people, though.

Well no, not at first anyway.

We did that too, but decided it was better to hit the guy for farting.

The butt hole game below the hip was better though.

So, did the guy that unleashed the arrow "win?"

Haha. Fair enough. I assumed first it was against the kids but they're barely pubescent. The focus on the parents being gone (perhaps?) led me to assume they were talking about the parents. The article was so garbled I lost focus. But I appreciate the critique.

Eta: I just scanned back over the article--where did it suggest against whom the charges might be brought?

Thank you in advance, reading-comp guru.

Eta2: I assume you are assuming the "them" in this sentence means the participants. Of course, any 30yo with an 8th grade WV education would have realized it is referring to the prosecutors:

quote:

The Boone County prosecutor's office is being consulted in the investigation, Sutphin said.

"Once we get everything together, we're going to present it to them for a possible negligent homicide charge," Sutphin said.

Or perhaps your critique is referring to:

quote:

and criminal charges could be possible, authorities said Monday.

But this doesn't specificy agaisnt whom.

So, not only am I vindicated for my alleged lack of reading comprehension but this entire conversation evidences the author's lack of skill.

Cheers.
