Weren't we supposed to run out of ventilators today?

Oh yea, we sure were.
Article from 6 days ago quoting JBE screaming about nobody "complying" with his law. Says that we would run out of ventilators today, and beds by this Friday.
Louisiana has only 1.6% of ventilators requested for coronavirus patients. What's next? Sharing vents.
So as of April 4th, 2020
This and the bullshite models are what nobody will have to answer to when it is all over.
ETA: Since we didn't hit the number on April 4th, JBE has "moved the target" to April 9th.

Nobody will answer for it because they will say the quarantine is what made it possible. However, those models include social distancing measures. This shite hasn't been nearly as bad as originally believed. When the inevitable second wave hits in September, hopefully no one falls for this bullshite a second time.

My wife works at a BR area hospital and they are supplementing with what she called “Walmart vents”.. said she’s never seen them before and actually had one fail last night so they had to switch to ambu bags temporarily.

Staff and students at Rice have come up with an inexpensive way to automate the manual ventilator units. Trying to get it fast tracked thru FDA and to hospitals pretty soon. Sounds promising.
