Went to the Belle of Baton Rouge today for 1st time in 15+ years

First off, I survived.
I was downtown and decided to park in their garage, so I stepped in on way out just to see what it was like.
Man, what a depressing place. It had no feel of a full casino. It had the feel of a truck stop casino, low lighting, weird smells, and just sad people.
I did take them for $150 in about 5 minutes!!!

Kind of happens when you're the third best casino in the city.
I used to go there quite a bit in college because it was the only place to play NLHE at the time. Lauberge's poker room is bad too. Now I just drive to Harrah's anytime I want a serious session.

It was a shithole 5 years ago when I went there after an LSU game. Represented everything wrong with Louisiana that will NEVER get fixed.

The casinos we have in LA are thoroughly outclassed by the ones along the Miss coast.
L'auberge seems to go a little more in the direction of the other two each time I drop in- which isn't very often.....

LC casinos > MS Coast casinos. I'm no expert on Shreveport casinos, but I imagine they are, too

The last time I went to the Belle (this was a long time ago. Well before L'auberge opened), me and the people I was there with took the elevator and there were these 3 women in there.. The elevator stopped for about a minute and I just remember one of the women said "it did the same thing yesterday". And I said "damn girl! You must come here every day" and her friends started laughing at her..

We stayed there for a night (bought 2 days) while my wife went to a class. Our daughter and I hung around in the room. She got hungry so we went down stairs to the lobby looking for somewhere to eat. The attached restaurant was full ghetto and there was no way we were eating there.
Ordered pizza from some local place and it was pretty decent. The lobby and the hallways reeked of pimp sticks.

Place is like walking in a time warp.
Last time I was there, they tried to steal $500 from me when I was cashing out. They had to shut the cage down and review tapes to make sure I wasnt lying. The entire place needs to be taken off the dock and sunk

The ones in Miss have began to invest more in their properties since sports betting became legal there. I can't believe LA hasn't followed suit yet, with that. Maybe it will, soon....
