I don't know which side is worse....

I can't miss a wedding I'm invited to or I can't miss a football game

I got married Saturday after thanksgiving a couple years ago. We played Arkansas the day before. No one seemed to mind, and we saw the Kick 6 happen right before the ceremony started. Good times.

Don't get married or have friends. Problem solved.

Mine is in less than 2 months. We agreed on a Friday night since LSU plays the Saturday night

It's annoying because the thread has been done a million times. It all depends on how close you are to the couple and, yeah, the importance of the game. If you're asked to stand up in a wedding and you decide to go to LSU/McNeese, you're probably a dick. If it's your girlfriend's cousin getting married on LSU/Bama weekend, well, your girlfriend better understand.

Also, you can't ask the world to stop for three months, but couples should be aware of certain games. Of course, one of my friends got married on Michigan/Michigan State weekend "because it was the only day we could get what we wanted."

I'd rather miss an LSU game than deal with a Friday night weeding. But it wouldn't stop me from attending.

Yeah. Not going to happen. A bride should be the focal point of a wedding. Not her friends that will dress up as the "sexy nurse" with a thong and stethoscope, or "sexy cheerleader" with a thong and pom-poms.

My main problem with weddings is that if I decide to go I can only workout twice that day.

It was a compromise.
She wants to get married, wants it in the fall, wants it to be southern themed
I just want to watch the game

No judgement here. Good on yall for being able to compromise. That's a good start to a marriage.

This comes up all too frequently, with the same majority opinions given.

It does not irk me, but I refuse to attend a weekend wedding during football season, and (I'm already married to a woman who appreciates football) would not marry a woman who insists on a football weekend wedding. She would never respect or understand you in any other way.

If you attend one or are the groom in one, and you show up for it, you are confirming your submissiveness and are doomed to a miserable life, you miserable bastard.

or, ya know, some people realize its just a game and get over it.

We got married in April. I had people still complaining that it was during college baseball playoffs..... there is never going to be a time that is completely convenient for everyone.

I had a friend get married during Ole Miss-LSU weekend back in 2013. His wife got pissed when half the guests didn't show up because of "a stupid football game". Her exact words.

Weddings During Football Season

There are two Brides at these weddings, sometimes only one has come out.

Sometimes both (as is pictured here).
