You can always tell who's wife/fiance has them by the balls when your so called die-hard LSU football friends get married on game day.

It's like a power play that they do on purpose as a test.

We had ours on a Friday night. We knew many people couldn't or wouldn't make it especially out of town people, but if it was important to them (ie. they were very close family or friends), they would make it and be happy to be there. It's an easy way to trim down the guest list if you want a smaller wedding. Maybe that's why some people have Saturday football season weddings, too.

You have to be an idiot though to schedule one during an SEC home game. Syracuse? There's no reason to bitch about having to go to the wedding

We had our wedding on a Friday at 7pm, if people didn't come because of that I don't really care

The people who I expected to be there, were there.

I got married Saturday after thanksgiving a couple years ago. We played Arkansas the day before. No one seemed to mind, and we saw the Kick 6 happen right before the ceremony started. Good times.

I went to a wedding that night... the kick 6 happened right as we were getting seated. I know that person's screen name though, so it wasn't your wedding.

Unless you're his wife.

Right. Nobody said weddings were convenient. I'm not the one starting threads bitching about people scheduling weddings at certain times...and neither are you.

I think we might do ours during an LSU bye week next year. Spring might be too soon to be able to plan it, and summer in Dallas is way too hot.

You are not obligated to go. I'm sure the bride and groom would rather not pay for you to be there if you don't really want to be there.

I had a cousin that got married on opening day of deer season.

Needless to say, no men in my family attended the wedding.

It rains less than spring, is cooler than swamp arse summer, but not quite freezing like winter. I wonder why? I'm sorry you have to give up watching the game on your couch to go hang out with your friends

Absolutely no excuse. The groom would have to be a pansy to schedule a wedding during football season (unless it's an LSU open date). Otherwise, I would never attend a wedding on an LSU game day. Never.

I'm going to a wedding on Oct. 3, when LSU plays Eastern Michigan. The groom is an LSU fan but he made sure he planned the wedding on a game no one really cares about. (Of course I'm sure the bride was the one going for a fall wedding.)

ETA: I'd still never have a fall wedding.

I purposely had mine on the third saturday in October. LSU was also playing Auburn that day.

Both the wife and myself love the fall. It's our favorite time of year in the mountains. The venue we really wanted was easy to get on that day. We wanted a small wedding and knew we would only get people that wanted to be there by making it that day. The place had a TV in a small room in the back that people could watch if they wanted to during the reception. I don't recall anyone being in there, but I was busy.

People should make their wedding whenever they feel like... If you are that butthurt about a football game the same day, don't go to the wedding. If you can't miss the wedding, I'm pretty sure there will be another football game for you to watch the next week.

My daughter got married in June, so later told her mother that she wanted a Fall wedding but knew dad wouldn't come.

After all was said and done, she was happier with the June wedding, she got everything she wanted.
